Three Rhythms, One Foundation: Stories That Hold Meaning
A short pause before we step forward — and three recent moments you may have missed.
Dear friends,
The quiet at the end of August is a good place to pause.
For the last few months, I’ve been writing weekly, opening small windows into the story behind Understanding Vienna and what it means to build a storytelling brand rooted in memory, care, and curiosity.
But as we get ready to open new doors and release our first companion stories and walking guides, I’ve decided to shift the rhythm of this newsletter. Beginning in September, Substack will move to a monthly rhythm.
Not to say less.
But to give each moment more space to breathe.
✍️ In Case You Missed It — 3 Stories from the Past Month
Over on LinkedIn, we’ve continued our Universe Reveal Campaign, each week pulling on a different thread in the storymaking process. Here are three recent moments worth revisiting:
🧵 Week 4: The Stories We Build to Last: Designing with Emotional Architecture
Some stories stay with us for years. Not because they were dramatic or loud, but because they were built to hold something deeper. They gave us structure without taking away mystery. They let us feel, learn, and return.

✨ Week 5: One Brand, Three Rhythms: Designing Stories for Different Kinds of Curiosity
Not every reader wants the same thing.
Some want facts and figures.
Others want the luxury of wonder.
Still others want tools they can hold in their hands.

🌱 Week 6: What Storyline Feels Like Yours?
If your life moved to a rhythm, what would it sound like?
A waltz? A polka? A mazurka?
Would it flow like the Danube at dusk or skip like shoes on cobblestones after rain?

🧵 A Moment That Captured the Rhythm
Sometimes storylines don’t arrive all at once.
They begin with a word. A symbol. A rhythm scribbled on the corner of a page.
This was one of our quiet reflections from August, the idea that every story carries a movement, a tempo, a thread.
We’re not designing just content. We’re designing memory, meaning, and belonging.
At your pace. In your rhythm.
🔍 What’s Coming in September
Next month, we’ll begin releasing:
The first teaching resource (The Schönbrunn Incident Report)
A free story companion (The First Whisper)
A poetic walking guide for Vienna’s quieter corners
And our first “Echoes We Can Carry” reflection in blog + audio form
All this will be shared in the September digest — one email, packed with story, wonder, and something to carry with you.
Until then, thank you for walking alongside us.
We’re so glad you’re here.
Warmly,
Yolanda
